N-416 Tender trucks for 8.5K tender (4-wheel ARCHBAR). assembled trucks and wheels (all wheel current pickup)
All trucks come fully assembled (see pictures) and painted engine black.
Attachment to the tender frame is by MT kingpin for the Archbar and 20K tender trucks, and a screw (1,1 mm hole/drill in body) for the 12 and 15 K tenders.
Pins and screws are supplied with the trucks.
All trucks feature all-wheel current pickup through modified Fox Valley Models 33 inch wheels in case of the Archbar (low profile or regular on request) and 12K or 15K tender trucks (only low profile due to close axle spacing); the 20K tender trucks have Kato 11-605 or 11- 606 37 inch wheelsets.
Wheelset removal (if necessary for weathering or so):
1. in case of the Archbar trucks: gently lift out one wheel by inserting a small srewdriver between wheel and brass contact strip: not too much force because 3D printed truckframes are more brittle than plastic ones.
2. in case of the 12K and 15K tender trucks: gently lift out one wheel by inserting a small srewdriver between wheel and brass contact strip, repeat on other side.
3. in case of the 20K tender trucks: using tweezers or your fingers slide the wheels closer together. the insulated bushing has been shortened a bit too facilitate this. gently lift out one wheel by inserting a small srewdriver between wheel and brass contact strip, repeat other side. reinsert the wheels by sliding them apart using a small wedge. check wheelgauge for proper gauge frequently using a NMRA or MT wheelgauge.
In all cases wheels should be very free turning, so minimal drag.
